What
is 1:1 integration?
1-to-1 integration
means one device for each
student. The 1:1 Integration
program provides students with
personal portable computers to
enhance opportunities for
learning. The devices help
schools engage the digital
generation by nurturing
individual (or 1-to-1) learning
experiences.
1:1 programs are an
element in an international move
towards individualized learning,
which can increase independence
and self-initiated learning in
students and extend their
learning beyond the classroom.
Students who have their
own laptop computers have been
found to take greater pride and
ownership over the knowledge
they create, with a flow-on to
more flexible forms of
schooling.
1-to-1 programs can
extend formal learning
communities to include parents,
siblings and other people
important in students' lives.
Also, the programs can lead to
initiating global communication
and collaboration and developing
creative expression. (Smart

The Freedom Christian School 1:1 integration program will allow instructors to appropriately differentiate education for all their students. These devices will belong to the students but be used exclusively for classroom work as long as the student is attending Freedom Christian School. The benefits of 1:1 integration include the following...
1. A "fully-managed"
device means the content is
controlled by the school
administration.
2. Each student will
have unlimited use of Google
Apps for Education
free-of-charge.
3. All students will
work within the FCS-online.org
domain insuring students' work
cannot be lost or misplaced.
4. The experience of
each user will be completely
uniform with peers and
instructors.
5. The device has been
tested for all-day battery life.
6. The experience will
be safe and ad-free for each
user.
7. And so much more! (See
1:1 Program Parent Agreement
form)
AB
500 - Social Media Policies
The state of California requires all
private schools to inform parents of
the social media policies for school
employees. Freedom Christian School
policies are summarized as follows:
1. Faculty will only use the
school-sanctioned online tools in
the classroom.
2. Faculty may not initiate or
accept "friend" requests from
students or former student under the
age of 18 - or their minor friends
or siblings.
3. Faculty are discouraged by the
administration from accepting
"friend" requests or "following"
parents of current or prospective
students to avoid a conflict of
interest.
As Christian role models, the
Freedom Christian School faculty are
encouraged to monitor all social
media interactions so as to reflect
biblical principles and standards.
"Freedom is not the ability to do whatever you want, but the power to do what you ought."
